Why Do I Need An Estate Planning Attorney in Florida?

An estate planning lawyer can be of great assistance when it comes to handling real estate cases. The most important one would be getting your peace of mind. While it is possible to do estate planning without an attorney, filtering through the legal jargon and complex rulings takes more time. Different states in the United States also have different statutes regarding these rulings. With a Florida estate planning lawyer, we can help you identify weak spots in your real estate planning and give assistance to help you make the right decisions for you and your loved ones.

  • PROTECT YOUR LOVED ONES – In an estate plan you can denote how you will leave your assets to your loved ones in the event something happens to you. This can be done in several ways. For example, if you want to consider your minor children or grandchildren in your child support or inheritance, having a living trust or guardianship in place can help them handle your assets until they are ready to do so.
  • AVOID COURT PROCEEDINGS – Without a proper estate plan, the courts will have to plan it for your loved ones. Without your proper guidance, the courts might be seriously misinformed with how you want to divide your estate. Having an estate plan will save you from the worry of having a litigation result in a stab-in-the-dark decision regarding your life’s savings.
  • REDUCE CONFLICT IN THE FAMILY – Dealing with a loved one’s death is something that we do not want to experience. In some cases, this could also lead to bad decisions resulting from different emotions. By having a plan ready, it is possible to avoid conflict by making sure that everyone can follow your sentiment through your estate plan. This can allow your family to grieve without thinking about these matters.

Our Estate Planning Services

Most of our client’s first impression about estate planning is that it is only for elderly people or rich millionaires. Our goal as an office is to convince everyone that every family in Florida needs a customized estate plan. Each family has a different story, and a contextualized estate plan can help you protect your different assets such as your business, home, among others.
Make sure that you are able to decide for yourself when the unthinkable happens, and make sure that your will is followed. Schedule a consultation with Brightwell Law PLLC today to assess your real estate law needs.

History of Escambia

Escambia County is a historic county, and is regarded as one of the oldest counties in Florida. During the end of the Civil War in 1868, Escambia County was formed from the counties of Conecuh and Baldwin through an Alabama Act of Legislature. Mr. Mark Lyons, the grandfather of Senator Lister Hill, introduced the act creating Escambia County. His hometown, Pollard was chosen as the Seat of Justice and County Seat until 1883, where it was moved to Brewton. Escambia is derived from the river the Creek Indians named as “Shambia,” which means clearwater.

Geography

Escambia County is located in the southwest of Alabama. The eastern part is covered by small hilly areas, while the western part is more of a plain area. Natural resources in the area include oil, pine trees, sand, gravel, and artesian wells. The county also produces cotton, corn, peanuts, soybeans, and all kinds of greens and garden vegetables.
Because of its rich culture and natural scenery, Escambia County is appealing to outdoor enthusiasts with its year-round offerings. From golf and tennis facilities, to different park systems, activities such as hiking and biking are lively hobbies offered around the area. The county is also home to the largest artificial reef in the world – the Oriskany, an old aircraft carrier that now houses whale sharks, amberjacks and reef fish.

Naval Aviation

Pensacola has been referred to previously as the “Cradle of Naval Aviation”. The first Naval Air Station commissioned by the Navy established the Naval Air Station Pensacola in 1914. Aside from being the training ground for the military, it also houses the Naval Aviation Museum, considered as the world’s largest naval aviation museum. It contains the rich history of more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft from different parts of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. Lastly, there is also an aerial student performance held in the area.

Historic and Culture-Oriented District

Another aspect of Escambia County is the multitude of historical sites lined up in the area. One of them is the Saenger, a Spanish baroque-rococo theater founded in 1925, which houses different types of theater plays for theater aficionados. Escambians also love partying. Different events such as the Mardi Gras allow the locals to celebrate their diverse culture, arts, and culinary influences.
